Gilead has implemented a new application with the subject and physician associations fighting the infection and its digital solution partner Albert Health, in order to act with common sense and awareness about HIV, which is a public health problem. The digital application called “Hayatın İçinde Varım” (in English I’m In Life) aims to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV or at risk and to support their long-term health management.
Gilead has been developing innovative treatments in the field of HIV/AIDS for 35 years and has been working to transform this infection from fatal to manageable. Gilead’s ‘Together We Are Stronger Than HIV’ platform, which recently brought together subject and physician associations and solution partners fighting HIV, started its work to raise awareness about the infection, increase access to anonymous testing, and develop services and solutions on HIV. Gilead launched the “I’m in Life” digital health assistant application together with physician associations fighting HIV (AIDS and CYBHD, EKMUD, ENFEKDER, GUNIDER, HAKED, HIVEND, KLIMIK*), Pozitif-iz Association and solution partners.
digital health assistant application, implemented in collaboration with digital solution partner Albert Health, offers users a program developed specifically for HIV to raise awareness before diagnosis and to accompany people living with HIV on their journey after diagnosis. The HIV program, developed within the scope of an artificial intelligence-supported chronic health condition management application based on clinical results, aims to raise the awareness of people at risk and living with HIV, support their treatment and facilitate long-term health management.
“We raise awareness with the digital health assistant”
Şebnem Girgin, General Manager at Gilead Türkiye stated that with Gilead’s pioneering treatment methods, HIV has been transformed into a chronic health condition and that a healthy future can be aimed for people living with HIV, and said, “We work closely with subject and physician associations and our solution partners to understand the experiences and expectations of people living with HIV, to ensure that their voices are heard, to raise the awareness of people at risk and living with HIV and to support them in their treatment. It is of great importance to raise public awareness about the diagnosis of HIV and to shorten the process until diagnosis. Low level of knowledge and awareness about HIV transmission methods, preventive and protective treatment methods, and not knowing where and how HIV testing can be done cause an increase in HIV transmission. With the “I’m in Life” application of our digital solution partner Albert Health, a closed-circuit program has been developed for individuals living with HIV or in the risk group. This application includes features that facilitate the effective management and tracking of the infection, such as daily notifications to raise awareness, location and contact information of anonymous test centers, medication and health parameters tracking, etc. The application, which was shaped with precise details considering the user experience, also has an easy-to-use feature with a voice health assistant.”
Digital assistant program is free and tailored to individual needs
It is possible to access the ‘I Am In Life’ application through different channels. All at-risk people living with HIV can use the Albert Health App. You can download it free of charge from the Store or Google Play and choose the “Hayatın İçinde Varım” program, or you can download the application with the QR code directed by physicians who are knowledgeable about the program and use it easily by e-mail. The application, designed specifically for people’s needs, personalizes the health management of each user. The application also allows the user to store health information and create reminders. This application, which aims to facilitate the long-term health management of individuals living with HIV and people at risk and to improve the quality of life with innovative solutions, draws attention as it is a first in the field of HIV in Türkiye.
