The heart of this transformation is the integration of Getinge’s T-DOC sterile supply management system into medical bear’s operations. This cutting-edge digital solution has improved the company’s workflow, elevating productivity by an impressive 9% and cutting the number of process steps by 27%.
Located in the Gunma region, north of Tokyo, medical bear’s outsourcing facility caters to over 100 hospitals and clinics. Traditionally, Japan’s Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) management has relied heavily on manual processes, making medical bear’s move towards digitalization a pioneering step. The shift was driven by the need to adhere to stringent sterilization guidelines and a vision to distinguish medical bear from its competitors.
“Before the T-DOC system, our staff were mired in manual data entry, a time-consuming process fraught with the potential for errors. T-DOC has not only enhanced the accuracy of our information but also offered a user-friendly interface with a minimal learning curve,” explains Takuya Kaneko, Customer Service Manager at medical bear.
Currently, approximately 20% of medical bear’s clientele benefit from the T-DOC system. The company is actively engaged in broadening the awareness of T-DOC’s advantages, aiming to extend its reach to all partner hospitals and clinics in the region.
Satoshi Moriwaki, Product Manager at Getinge Japan, says the visionary leadership and change management prowess of the medical bear team were instrumental in the seamless T-DOC implementation.
“This is just the beginning of our journey. As we continue to collaborate closely with medical bear, our goal is to achieve even greater outcomes as the network of hospitals utilizing T-DOC expands,” says Satoshi Moriwaki
