MLP Care and Enerjisa Enerji are coming together for Solar Power Plant (SPP) projects, to which YEO Technology will contribute as a solution partner. With this collaboration, which will be a pioneer for the health sector, solar power plants will be established in 7 different locations in 4 provinces of Türkiye. With the electricity produced in the power plants, the energy needs of MLP Care hospitals will be met from clean sources and 73 thousand tons of carbon emissions will be prevented annually.
The project includes the establishment and operation of Solar Power Plant (SPP) projects at 7 different points in the provinces of Çankırı, Yozgat, Sivas and Gaziantep. The installed power of the solar power plants will be approximately 75 MWp and will meet more than 90 percent of the energy needs of MLP Care’s 27 Medical Park and Liv Hospital branches serving in Türkiye. This project, in which Enerjisa Enerji adds a new one to the renewable energy applications developed under the umbrella of İşimin Enerjisi, will be one of the leading sustainability projects of the sector in terms of representing an important capacity of MLP Care in the field of Turkish healthcare services. YEO Technology will be the solution partner of the project in finding land, carrying out permit processes, carrying out detailed engineering studies and construction of power plants.
The project, which will be realized with the Energy Performance Model (ESCO), brings together important players of the health and energy sectors. Focusing on the issue of sustainability, these three companies support Türkiye’s renewable energy transformation and therefore its pursuit of carbon neutrality with their work.
With the solar power plants to be established with a performance-based business model approach, an average of 112,401 GWh of clean energy will be produced annually in 7 locations, and over 73 thousand tons of carbon emissions will be prevented annually. Thanks to solar power plants in different locations, energy production corresponding to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 37 thousand 468 households will be provided in an environmentally friendly way to provide a better future for everyone.
All maintenance, repair and operation works of the facilities to be implemented within the scope of Enerjisa Enerji’s ‘Energy of My Work’ solutions will be carried out by Enerjisa Enerji during the 7-year contract. Production at solar power plants is planned to start in 2024.
Dr. Muharrem Usta, Chairman of the Board at MLP Care said the following about the project, “Sustainability is not just a field of work for us, but a way of doing business, due to our expertise. We support our goals of healthy growth, healthy society and healthy environment with sustainable processes. We are doing pioneering work in this field. We are the first hospital group in the BIST Sustainability Index, which includes companies with high levels of corporate sustainability performance. We are also the first healthcare provider to publish a sustainability report. The Solar Power Plant project will be an important step for our sustainability efforts. It will bring us one step closer to our carbon neutral goal. This project is extremely important not only for our company, but also for the future of our country and the world. Our greatest wish is to set an example.”
Stating that they directly contribute to Türkiye’s renewable energy transformation targets and are proud of being one of the companies with the largest share, Murat Pınar, CEO of Enerjisa Enerji said, “As Enerjisa, we are a company that has internalized the fight against climate change. The energy sector is directly responsible for 80 percent of the world’s carbon emissions. As Türkiye’s largest energy sector player, we adopt the understanding that if we are part of the problem, we must also be part of the solution in all our areas of action. Being self-sufficient in energy, which is one of Türkiye’s largest import items, and minimizing its impact on our foreign debt is an issue for which we see ourselves responsible for our country. On the path to achieve this, we adopt sustainability targets as the pole star and strengthen our investments in the field of renewable energy technologies. As today, we reveal the multiplier effect with our valuable collaborations and we know that collaborations play an important role in the energy transformation. Among the Energy of My Work projects we have developed since 2020, there are many energy efficiency applications we have implemented in the healthcare sector. It is a pleasure for all of us to find common ground with MLP Care, an institution that guides the healthcare sector with its hospitals at home and abroad, in the Solar Power Plant project, to leave a work that will add value to our country and nature, and to sign a project that the healthcare industry will take as an example. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed.”
Tolunay Yıldız, CEO of YEO Technology, the solution partner of the project, said, “As YEO, we aimed to be one of the most innovative institutions in the sector as we entered our 20th year. We add value to the country’s economy by carrying out activities that touch all areas of energy, from electricity generation, transmission and distribution to the smart and efficient use and application of energy. With the slogan ‘We Think It’s Possible’, we contribute not only to the transformation of energy but also to the transformation of the world. YEO has over 1000 MW project development and turnkey installation experience in the field of solar power plants. The power of 20 ongoing projects of YEO in this field exceeds 200 MW. We are happy to bring a first to life in this field with MLP Care’s vision and Enerjisa Enerji’s ESCO model.”
