The mobile health vehicle delivery ceremony, organized with the participation of Serkan Barış, took place at the General Directorate of Public Health in Ankara.
Basic health services will be provided in the mobile health center donated by AstraZeneca Türkiye to the Ministry of Health. The mobile health center, which has an x-ray room, laboratory, respiratory function test devices, emergency stretcher and other basic necessary devices that enable doctors to provide primary health care, will be used throughout the country in line with the needs determined by the Ministry of Health. Heart x-ray (telecardiography) and lung x-ray can be taken in the lead-lined x-ray room in the mobile health center. Access to health services will be facilitated in case of disasters with the health center, which also has a tent area where outpatient examinations and first interventions can be performed.
The energy needed will be provided from renewable sources thanks to the solar panel that feeds the small devices in the vehicle and can be used when the generator is disabled. In this way, it is aimed to reduce the carbon footprint of the mobile health center and ensure the continuity of basic health services in case of energy outage.
Prof. Dr. Sedat Kaygusuz, General Director of Public Health of Ministry of Health of Türkiye said, “Primary healthcare services should be seen as the most important stage of our healthcare system. In addition to activities aimed at non-communicable diseases such as cancer screenings, screening of chronic diseases, women and children follow-up, preventive approaches such as prevention and vaccination activities of infectious diseases that affect public health, zoonotic diseases, occupational diseases and environmental diseases are carried out throughout the country by our General Directorate. It is our priority to raise awareness in order to improve these services and to provide services through mobile tools to reach our citizens who are at more extreme points and disadvantaged in accessing health. We are very happy with this mobile vehicle donated to us by AstraZeneca Türkiye on behalf of mobile health services. We would like to thank AstraZeneca Türkiye very much.”
Delivering a speech on the subject, AstraZeneca Türkiye Country President Pharmacist. Serkan Barış said, “It is our common responsibility to facilitate access to health services for every individual and build a healthier society. At AstraZeneca, we are working towards a future where people have greater access to life-changing preventive services and treatments. We are very proud and happy about the support we provide to the Ministry of Health for a future where more sustainable and more accessible health services are provided in our country. We are always determined to do our part to improve health services. We are proud to take another important step towards this goal with the mobile health center we have delivered.”
