The award ceremony, in which the Pharmacist Entrepreneur Pharmacists Association (Pharmetic Girişimci Eczacılar Derneği) organized the fifth Farmafikir Competition, which was started in 2016 among pharmacy students studying in the Faculties of Pharmacy in Turkey and TRNC, was held in the Gazi University Faculty of Pharmacy Conference Hall in cooperation with Gazi University Faculty of Pharmacy.
“The story that started with 12 applications in 2016 continues with 55 applications in 2022”
The Farmafikir Award Ceremony program, which started with a music concert, continued with opening speeches of Pharmetic Entrepreneurial Pharmacists Association (PGED) Chairman of the Board Pharm. Kazim Aykanat and Gazi University Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. İlkay Erdoğan Orhan. At the ceremony, which took place with the participation of Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, PGED President Pharm. Kazım Aykanat said, “With the Farmafikir project, we aimed to create the ideas, thoughts and projects of young minds for ‘Future Pharmacy’ among pharmacy students studying in Faculties of Pharmacy in Turkey and TRNC. The story of Farmafikir, an innovation and idea competition set out to extend the microphone to pharmacy students, started with 12 applications in 2016 and continues with 55 applications in 2022. We are proud to encourage our young people to talk and produce about our future and profession.”
“We believe that it will contribute to the pharmacy profession”
Aykanat said, “33 different student groups, 133 students and 55 different projects from 21 faculties participated in this year’s competition. This year we tried to encourage communities and teamwork as much as we could. We are in the age of technology and innovation. How will our profession and us be affected in this period when life changes rapidly in the Farmafikir competition? We aimed to pave the way for the difference in the ‘Pharmacy Profession’ of the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy by creating different perspectives on the questions. We want to encourage the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy in this direction, and we believe that the projects of young minds with their creative ideas will contribute to both the pharmacy profession and the pharmacists of the future. As PGED, we aim to implement at least 2 projects among the Farmafikir projects in the next 1-year period. As an association, we, together with all our members, are ready to open up our entire experience to our fellow students. Production and development can never be one-sided. You will grow with us, and we will develop with you.”
Stating that 52 of 55 applications this year are related to the field of ‘Digital Health’ and that the course of the pharmacy profession has necessarily shifted to this field, Aykanat continued as follows, “I would like to express my gratitude to our students and members of the evaluation committee. I would also like to thank dear Sefa Mumay and Dear Ömrüm Ergüven for their efforts in all evaluation processes of the projects that applied.
